Do I really need to eat breakfast?

If you're struggling to lose weight, then you've never been told the truth...

Breakfast is often called 'the most important meal of the day', and for good reason.

As the name suggests, breakfast breaks the overnight fasting period. It serves as an opportunity to help you fuel your day and provide key nutrients that your body needs.

With that being said, you want to make sure you are checking off the three main components that make up a balanced meal that keeps you satiated: a healthy fat, protein, and fibre source. These three components are the pillars of setting the stage for your entire day!

Having a bagel with cream cheese or a chocolate chip muffin can be satisfying to cut your craving, however, having these food items for breakfast can set your day up the wrong way. Why? There are not enough of the proper nutrients/macronutrients to create stable blood sugar levels.

When you start your day with foods that create a high blood sugar level, you will crash not long after.

Unfortunately for many of us, this is happening several times a day and it has become so normalized in our day to day life that we just "deal" with it and grab the next sweet thing to bring us up again, which ultimately leads to feelings of always being hungry, eating empty carbs, and putting on the weight.

Eat something that keeps you feeling your best not only in the morning but throughout the entire day!
